Terry Shampoe

 

Terry is a recovering engineer who has worked in the ship building and semiconductor industries. After being laid off by his last semiconductor company twice, he decided to begin his culinary career.

 

He attended Johnson and Wales University in Denver, Colorado, graduating at the top of his class. 

 

Upon graduation he was employed at the same five-star, five-diamond resort in Colorado Springs, where he met April. Here, he honed his Garde Manger and line skills. Terry loves to carve melons, as shown in many of the pictures throughout this book.  His favorite cuisines are anything with a nice blend of spices, from the American southwest to southeast Asia. He also likes to experiment with Indian cuisine.

 

Terry spends his off time studying martial arts, hiking the Front Range with his son and watching his daughter compete and train horses.
